The Bowl & Down Stem Are Two Main Attachments For Beaker Bongs

Bongs are water-pipes with three distinct parts. The base of the bong is used to hold water. The bowl remains at the side of the water-chamber and remains connected to this part via a down stem. The neck extends upwards from the water-chamber and ends in the mouthpiece. Once you light up the weed in the bowl, the smoke reaches the water-chamber via the down stem and passes through the water, before moving up through the neck, and reaching the mouthpiece.

The smoke loses some heat and becomes cooler due to this reason. The water also dissolves the toxic byproducts, resulting from the burning weed to some extent. Thus, you can enjoy smoother, cleaner and cooler hits when using bongs. The base of the bong comes in different shapes. Bongs with a conical base are known as beaker bongs. They look like beakers which are used in science laboratories.

The base of these beaker bongs is wider than bongs with spherical or tubular bases due to being molded in a conical shape. The bottom of the beaker bong is also flatter due to this reason. Therefore, beaker bongs can sit firmly on a hard surface and you can take hits without worrying about an accident. Bongs are used with different types of glass attachments, such as a bowl, a down stem, an ash-catcher, and an ice-pinch. You can remove these parts since they are not built into the bong. The bowl and downstem are the two important attachments of a bong.

The bowl is used to pack the weed. Therefore, you cannot use these beaker bongs if a bowl is not attached to them. The smoke reaches the water-chamber from the bowl after traveling through the down stem. It works as a bridge between the bowl and the water-chamber. Therefore, a bong cannot function without a bowl and a down stem. These attachments are important parts of a bong due to this reason. You will find different types of down stems and bowls for your bong.

Some of the bowls attached to beaker bongs have a bulbous shape. In this scenario, the larger bowls encase a smaller bowl. The smaller bowl is used to pack the weed. The larger bowl provides protection to the users when they light up the weed. The presence of an additional layer of glass protects the fingers from the heat. You will also find bowls with handles. It is easier to hold a bowl and slide it in and out of a down stem when a handle is attached to it.

Some bowls have built-in screens to prevent the weed from falling out. You may use these bowls to hold weed which can be used at a later time. You will also find different types of down stems for beaker bongs. Some of them have a diffuser fitted at one end. This part of the downstem remains submerged and the diffuser works as a percolator.
